From The New York Times

This week on Popcast, The Times’s weekly music podcast: the first of a three-part review of the year in pop and jazz, with our critics discussing their Top 10 lists, 2010’s most intriguing artists and the fine art of listmaking itself.

In a roundtable conversation about the best albums of 2010, Jon Pareles recounts how he fell for the Arcade Fire’s reflections-turned-anthems, Jon Caramanica argues that Rick Ross has gotten better as he’s gotten more famous, and Ben Ratliff and Nate Chinen explain why it was a great year for jazz. Also, each critic explains the inevitable “wild card” on his list. Ben Sisario is the conversation’s moderator and Devil’s advocate.
