IMN congratulates Esperanza Spalding on her Best New Artist Grammy nomination! Also nominated in that category are: Justin Bieber, Drake, Florence & The Machine, and Mumford & Sons.

The LA Times says of the nod: “In a Grammy world in which jazz is normally ignored in the best new artist category, the arrival of rising bassist-vocalist Esperanza Spalding on a list that includes less-shocking nominees Justin Bieber, Drake, Florence + the Machine and Mumford & Sons is notable. The nomination is a victory for jazz bassists everywhere.”
