From PBS
CPB/PBS Diversity and Innovation Fund
PBS and CPB are pleased to announce which projects submitted in response to the Diversity and Innovation Fund Request for Proposals will now advance to panel review.
More than 200 submissions were received in response to the RFP. Each proposal was reviewed by editorial staff. The following projects were determined to be most in alignment with the goals of the RFP and will advance to panel review:
Title/Producer
Find the Beat – KETC/JumpStart Productions, LLC
Brief synopsis
Find the Beat features Esperanza Spalding, a rising star in the jazz/pop world, joining with a group, a band or solo musician to explore the roots of their music. Their journeys take them to see authentic performers, explore cultural connections and investigate musical history.
We welcome public comment on any or all of the proposals moving forward for panel review. Feedback may be submitted in the form of an e-mail message addressed to: DIFundSubmission@pbs.org
Following the panel review, a decision will be made as to which (if any) of the projects will advance to piloting. Pilots will be reviewed by PBS and CPB staff and online by the public, as well as through more formalized testing. Following these reviews, PBS will determine which (if any) of the pilots will be broadcast and/or move forward for full production funding.
