Chris Potter’s Underground plays an exclusive two-night stand at the intimate Jazz Dock, this Tuesday & Wednesday evening. It’s a special treat for Prague, since the last time Chris Potter’s Underground performed in the city was a couple of years ago – and for thousands in the middle of Old Town Square at that – as part of the Bohemia Jazz Festival.
Chris Potter is among the most acclaimed jazz tenor saxophonists these days and with his “post-bop” quartet Underground, featuring guitarist Adam Rogers, Keyboardist Craig Taborn, and drummer Nate Smith, he is in peak form. A Down Beat Reader’s Poll in 2008 puts him as second only to the tenor sax legend, Sonny Rollins.
