Free 30th Anniversary Kick-off Party on June 23rd Opens the 2010 TD Ottawa International Jazz Festival with a BANG!
To kick off its 30th birthday celebration, the 2010 TD OTTAWA INTERNATIONAL JAZZ FESTIVAL is saying Thank You to its fans with a night of FREE music on the Main Stage in Confederation Park on Wednesday, June 23rd with three remarkable performances.
Opening the festivities at 6pm is SDC Presents BANG!, the latest theatrical presentation from the STREET DRUM CORPS. Dubbed “a punk rock STOMP,” since 2004 Street Drum Corps has become a popular attraction across North America, performing everywhere from Late Night with Conan O’Brien to Vans Warped Tour. Drawing on influences as diverse as Adam and the Ants, Jane’s Addiction and the Burundi drummers of Africa, Street Drum Corps takes the concept of the improvising percussion ensemble into the realm of alternative rock.
