The Democratic National Committee recently invited Esperanza Spalding to perform at a fundraiser held in Miami at the Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts. Following Spalding’s performance, President Obama raved, “Isn’t she terrific? I love listening to Esperanza, she is wonderful.” This marks the fourth time Esperanza Spalding has been invited to perform for the president: she performed at the Nobel Prize Ceremony in Oslo this past year and she’s played at the White House on two occasions.
