Following closely on the release of his 13th album, Compass, Joshua Redman discusses his place in the history of jazz with critic Gary Giddins at The City University of New York. Gary Giddins is the author of nine books, including Visions of Jazz: The First Century, for which he won the National Book Critics Circle Award for Criticism and is best known for his longtime work with The Village Voice.
