In a perfect world, Dianne Reeves, Angélique Kidjo, and Lizz Wright wouldn’t just be touring together. They’d be hosting a network television show, offering an antidote to our degrading “Real Housewives’’ culture with a liberating dose of wisdom, plainspoken commentary, and soul-stirring songs.
As three of the world’s most potent and distinctive vocalists, the triumvirate has joined forces in “Sing the Truth,’’ a show created to pay tribute to three late, legendary predecessors: South African singer Miriam Makeba, jazz singer-songwriter Abbey Lincoln, and blues-folk powerhouse Odetta. On Sunday, Reeves, Kidjo, and Wright present “Sing the Truth’’ for only the third time in the United States as part of the Tanglewood Jazz Festival.
