Street Drum Corps Presents Bang! Added To Lineup
By: Andy Doerschuk
It’s amazing when something incredible just falls in your lap. But that’s exactly what happened on Tuesday when I got a surprise email from Frank Zummo of Street Drum Corps. Here’s what he wrote:
“My Nor Cal Bang! guys told me that you guys are putting on a big drum event in Aug w/ Thomas Lang & more. My Bang! group would love to open the show or perform out front.”
A couple BPMs later, we added Street Drum Corps Presents Bang! to the already incredible lineup of artists appearing at the 2011 DRUM! Night on August 12. The SDC spin-off shares the same anarchistic approach to rhythm making as their franchise’s namesake by playing found percussion instruments (buckets, pipes, barrels, anything bangable) in an unforgettably intense brand of street theater.
