Preservation Hall/Patron Music in Motion Tour

July 28th --
NEW ORLEANS - A refurbished 1927 train car, "The Patron Tequila Express" departed New Orleans Thursday on a trip aimed at benefiting St. Bernard Parish and Preservation Hall Music Education Program in the city's French Quarter. The "Music in Motion" tour will be collecting donations on visits to Chicago, Indianapolis, Cleveland, Los Angeles, Washington, D.C., Baltimore, New York and all points between.

The St. Bernard Project is a community-based organization that began rebuilding hurricane-damaged homes in St. Bernard Parish in August 2006, a year after Katrina struck parts of the Gulf Coast. Preservation Hall, founded in 1961, is dedicated to protect and honor New Orleans jazz. The train departed from Amtrak's station as the caboose of Amtrak's "City of New Orleans" train.
